College baseball: Bison gain doubleheader split with Oakland

Zach Wentz tossed a three-hit complete game to pace North Dakota State to a 5-1 victory over Oakland in the second game of a Summit League baseball doubleheader on Sunday at Newman Outdoor Field.

NDSU (20-24, 9-10) lost 8-7 in the first game, after Oakland scored three runs in the top of the ninth inning.

Zach Heidmann went 4-for-8 on the day for the Bison, driving in three runs.

Wentz (4-2) allowed one run without walking a batter over seven innings.
