Charges expected in Fairfax teen abductionOLIVIA — Charges are expected Wednesday against a 25-year-old Marshall man who allegedly abducted a 14-year-old Fairfax girl early Tuesday as she was delivering newspapers.
Renville County Sheriff Jerry Agre tells the Journal of New Ulm he expects the charges to be kidnapping and criminal sexual conduct.
The girl's mother went looking for her after she failed to return home on time from delivering papers Tuesday morning. She found her daughter's abandoned bicycle and reported her missing just before 8 a.m.
About 20 minutes later the girl called her mother on her cell phone. Agre says the girl had jumped from her abductor's moving vehicle.
The suspect was arrested in his Marshall apartment Tuesday afternoon.
