College baseball: Bison plate 25 runs in doubleheader sweep

North Dakota State pounded out 31 hits and 25 runs in a two-game sweep of Southern Utah in Summit League baseball on Sunday at Newman Outdoor Field.

The Bison (16-23, 6-9) won the first game 13-7 behind three home runs and a six-run eighth inning. Zach Heidemann’s grand slam in that inning put the game away for the Bison. Nic Obey and Michael Riewer also homered in the game.

In Game 2, NDSU scored 10 runs in the third and fourth innings. Tyler Steen and Riewer each went 3-for-4 in the contest, with Steen and Max Casper each driving in three runs.
