A good recycling start for FargoThank you, Fargo residents, for increasing participation in recycling. More Fargo residents are recognizing that recyclable items are not garbage. Driving in Fargo, I have noticed a lot more blue bins ready to be picked up. This is very encouraging.
Plastics are widely used, but Fargo only recycles No. 1 and No. 2 plastics. Many items commonly used in our households are not recyclable here. Expanding Fargo’s recycling to include all plastics would increase participation even more. Either we urge manufacturers to use No. 1 or No. 2 plastics, or we find a way to recycle all other plastics.
I urge residents to find out if businesses they support are recycling. All Fargo businesses should be recycling their waste. I have heard of many businesses that don’t even recycle their cardboard. I am a manager of a food service business, and we recycle all plastic, cardboard, aluminum and break-room issues of The Forum. In fact, all food service businesses in West Acres have been recycling for years now.
Recycling is a simple way to reduce the damage brought on by our consumption. Keep it up, Fargo.
