Lind: Job market tough for everyone, even 2-year-olds

This photo was sent to Neighbors along with a note that opens with, “Things are tough all over for a kid looking for a job.”

The note continues, “My name is Nathan Enge.

“I’m with my grandpa Don Young in Detroit Lakes. He ain’t got no job, either.”

Nathan writes very good notes, considering he is just 2.

But on the outside chance great-grandpa Don had something to do with this, Neighbors contacted him and gained a little more information.

Nathan is the son of Joy Enge, Don’s granddaughter, and her husband, Troy Enge, of New Prague, Minn.

Don says he had T-shirts like the one Nathan is wearing made “to get a few laughs.”

Well, Don, at age 2, what kind of job is Nathan looking for? “Hard to tell,” Don says.

OK, but is Don really out of a job, too, and seeking one?

Yes and no, Don says. Yes, he’s out of a job since he’s retired after spending 45 years with Northern States Power in Minneapolis. And no, he’s not seeking another one because retirement suits him just fine. It gives him time to set up gag photos like this one of his great-grandson.
