College baseball: Wentz tosses shutout as Bison split with IPFW

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Zach Wentz tossed a four-hit shutout as North Dakota State won the second game of a doubleheader 9-0 over Indiana Purdue-Fort Wayne in Summit League baseball on Saturday at Mastodon Field.

IPFW won the first game 6-4.

NDSU’s Jay Hartman went 4-for-6 with four runs in the two games. Eric Nutzhorn and Tim Jallen also had four hits for the Bison.

Wentz (2-2) struck out four and walked just one in his seven-inning gem.

NDSU is now 14-21 overall and 4-8 in The Summit.
