Deaths of Minnesota newlyweds ruled murder-suicideNODINE, Minn. (AP) — The shooting deaths of a newlywed couple in a small Winona County town have been ruled a murder-suicide.
Winona County deputies found 47-year-old Morgan Patrick Nederhiser and his wife, 49-year-old Debrah Nederhiser, dead in the bedroom of their home in Nodine on Feb. 23. The couple's three greyhounds were also shot to death.
County Attorney Charles MacLean told the Winona Daily News that Morgan Nederhiser shot his wife three times in the head with a shotgun, then shot himself at least twice.
Deputies went to the couple's home after getting a call from a minister who had received an e-mail from someone there. Officials aren't saying what the message said.
The couple were married in September.
