22-year-old charged in Casselton drug bust

A 22-year-old faces felony drug charges after Cass County deputies seized 42 grams of marijuana while executing a search warrant Tuesday in Casselton, N.D.

The marijuana was packaged for sale and would be worth about $600, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office and the charges filed in the case.

Shortly after 7 a.m. Tuesday, officers searched the home at 41 8th Ave. N., No. 17, also finding a pill crusher, straws with powder residue and pot paraphernalia, court records state.

Rory Danner Utvick of Casselton was charged with possession of marijuana with the intent to deliver and possession of drug paraphernalia, both felonies. He’s also charged with misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.

Additional arrests might be possible pending the outcome of further investigation, authorities said.

Bail was set at $5,000 or 10 percent cash in Utvick’s initial appearance in Cass County District Court on Wednesday.
