ND tribes getting help with food assistanceBISMARCK (AP) — American Indian tribes in North Dakota are getting some of the $4.5 million in federal stimulus money being awarded nationwide to boost food assistance to low-income families on and near reservations.
The Agriculture Department says the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe is getting $350,000 and the Spirit Lake Sioux about $6,000.
The money is for the purchase of equipment and the improvement of facilities needed to provide food aid to needy families on and near the reservations.
