Bond set at $350,000 for Cathay man charged with attempted murderFESSENDEN, N.D. (AP) — Bond has been set at $350,000 for a Cathay man charged with attempted murder.
Fifty-three-year-old Robert Severtson is accused of shooting at a housemate with a shotgun during an argument late Wednesday, then locking himself in the house. The person who was shot at was not hit.
Police say SWAT team members who surrounded the home got no response from Severtson. Hours later they broke a bedroom window, found Severtson sleeping and arrested him.
It was not immediately clear if Severtson had retained a lawyer. He faces up to 20 years in prison if convicted.
