Peterson's re-election campaign raises nearly $118,000 in early 2010Minnesota Democratic Rep. Collin Peterson’s re-election campaign raised $117,742 during the first three months of 2010, according to a federal campaign statement filed Tuesday.
Peterson represents the 7th Congressional District, which covers most of western Minnesota, including Clay County. He’s seeking his 11th term to the U.S. House.
Peterson’s campaign committee now has nearly $676,000 in cash on hand, which is money he has accumulated from previous re-election bids. He entered 2010 with about $620,000 in his campaign war chest.
Willmar, Minn., businessman and Republican challenger Lee Byberg registered his campaign committee with the Federal Election Commission in late January. His first quarter report was not yet filed as of Tuesday afternoon. Candidates have until April 15 to file their first quarter campaign contributions with the FEC.
