D-G-F to cut six part-time positionsThe Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton School Board on Monday approved cutting six part-time positions.
The move comes as board members try to prepare the budget for next year before enrollment numbers are known.
The elementary positions are occupied by three employees, who would be shuffled into openings as other teachers retire.
“From what we’ve seen we have positions for those people,” Superintendent Randy Bruer said.
The positions could potentially be reinstated if enrollment is up in the fall, said board member Karleen Mjolsness.
The cuts trim about $95,000 from D-G-F’s budget, while the net loss in personnel will most likely be zero, Bruer said.
Board members voted 5-1 for the measure. Ronnie Tang, David Brown, Jerry Anderson, Karleen Mjolness and Sandy Hawk were in favor, while member Keith Kennedy came out opposed.
The board also voted to approve contracts for a $2.16 million project to update the heating, venting and roofing at the two district schools. The measure passed 6-0.
