North Dakota National Guard honors volunteersDuring the recent Adjutant General’s Symposium on Families, the North Dakota National Guard recognized the North Dakota Patriot Guard and three volunteers for their service.
The Patriot Guard received the North Dakota National Guard Family Program Community Purple Award. The award is presented to a community group that best exemplifies the true meaning of the purple concept with Joint Family Program, by working with both Air and Army Guard activities.
The Gold Award was given to Alice “Dollie” Seerup of Wahpeton. She was recognized for her support of the 141st Maneuver Enhancement Brigade in Fargo.
The Extra Mile Award, which is presented to an individual Air or Army retiree who continues to serve the Guard through volunteering, was given to James Grote of Minot.
Juanita Hertz, a Family Readiness Group leader for the 231st Brigade Support Battalion in Valley City, won the Family Member of the Year Award for her outstanding and exceptional service.
