Train crashes into abandoned car east of RichardtonRICHARDTON, N.D. (AP) — A Burlington Northern Santa Fe train crashed into an abandoned vehicle at a railroad crossing east of Richardton.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol says 33-year-old Patricia Olson of Hebron had been drinking early Friday morning and left her vehicle in the crossing. The train came by a short time later and hit the car, pushing it off the tracks.
The patrol says Olson faces charges.
No number was listed for Olson in Hebron.
Damage to the train was estimated at $4,000, with the car sustaining $8,000 in damage.
