Two arrested for alleged thefts after traffic stopA Moorhead traffic stop on Sunday yielded two arrests in connection with a series of area thefts.
Complaints filed Tuesday against Brett Owen Wegter, 20, and Timothy Lee Olson, 21, allege that both men admitted stealing items from garages and vehicles in Moorhead, Fargo and West Fargo.
Olson told Moorhead police he broke into about 30 cars near Burger Time in north Moorhead four to six months ago, removing CDs from the vehicles, according to the court complaint.
Wegter also said he and Olson stole from garages in the metro area, police say.
They were pulled over after making what police said was an illegal turn. There were several CDs and tools in the vehicle, police said.
Both men appeared in Clay County District Court on Tuesday, charged with felony-level theft, receiving stolen property and criminal damage to property.
They were also charged with gross misdemeanor-level receiving stolen property and theft, and a misdemeanor drug charge.
The attorney for Olson said he had no comment. Wegter’s lawyer didn’t return a phone message.
