Sisseton, SD, man shot in leg brought to MeritCare, alleged shooter arrestedFARGO – A Sisseton, S.D., man who suffered a shotgun wound to the leg was airlifted to Fargo’s MeritCare Hospital on Monday night, and his alleged shooter is in custody, Roberts County (S.D.) State’s Attorney Kerry Cameron said.
The shooting happened at a house northeast of Sisseton, he said. The victim’s injury is not believed to be life-threatening.
Delton Egan Jr., 18, of Sisseton, has been charged with aggravated assault in connection with the shooting and is expected to make his first court appearance today, Cameron said.
The victim, whose name wasn’t released, is an acquaintance of Egan, Cameron said. The circumstances of the shooting are still under investigation by the Roberts County Sheriff’s Office and South Dakota Division of Criminal Investigation, he said.
The sheriff’s office requested assistance from Fargo police to take pictures of the victim’s leg wound and clothing.
