Moorhead dikes can come downMOORHEAD - The city says it is now safe for Moorhead property owners to start dismantling sandbag dikes.
Homeowners may place sandbags on the street, leaving the gutter near the curb unobstructed for drainage.
City crews will pick up the sandbags as soon as possible.
City council members will discuss providing sandbag dike removal assistance to homeowners at their April 12 meeting. If approved, homeowners would be provided with a “Right of Entry” form, which will permit contractors to enter private property and remove sandbag dikes for those owners who are in need of assistance.
City-authorized contractors would then begin dike removal the week of April 19.
