Flood 2009 retrospective: March 29
The breach of a permanent flood wall at Fargo’s Oak Grove Lutheran School overnight caught everyone’s attention after a relatively quiet day.
Two of the five buildings on campus had water in them, and workers spent the day trying to seal off the leak and pump water out of the buildings.
But Sunday also was a day of reflection for many. People from all faiths came together to worship and to pray for strength.
Some rejoiced for the blessing of being largely spared thus far. For others, the burdens of the past week were too heavy.
But after the long fight, there was starting to be reason to hope.
