Air Force general to speak at summitWASHINGTON – U.S. Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. Norton A. Schwartz will deliver the keynote speech at the 2010 Red River Valley Research Corridor Unmanned Aircraft Systems Action Summit May 20-21 in Grand Forks.
Sen. Byron Dorgan, D-N.D., is co-hosting the summit with the Red River Valley Research Corridor and the University of North Dakota’s John Odegard School of Aerospace Sciences.
As a member of the Senate Defense Appropriations Subcommittee, Dorgan secured federal funding in 2005 to create the Center for Unmanned Aircraft Systems Research, Education and Training at UND. The center has helped North Dakota become a national hub for UAS operations and education.
