Fire displaces residents of Bemidji apartmentsBEMIDJI, Minn. – Residents of more than five dozen apartments have been forced to find other places to live after a raging fire swept through the three-story building in Bemidji.
Firefighters from five area departments and the state Department of Natural Resources Forestry Division worked to bring the fire at the Regency Park Apartments under control Monday afternoon.
Bemidji firefighter Kelly Skime said all 63 units in the building were damaged. He said an estimate on how many people were displaced was not available.
Fire Chief Dave Hoefer told the Bemidji Pioneer that the fire appeared to have started on the balcony of a third-floor apartment.
