Any lingering doubts about this flood’s fury were cast aside. It was the news no one wanted to hear: The Red River flood crest was now expected to be between 39 and 41 feet – a foot higher than anyone thought. Equally worrisome: The crest would likely arrive by week’s end, a day earlier than originally thought.
