Sunday Forum a delightful readOftentimes, I finish the Sunday Forum, fold it and place it in my wastebasket. Feb. 21, it was different. Several articles caught my attention, and I hope the improvement continues. It was filled with worthwhile reading.
Section A carried an interesting piece on academic job security and Dr. Amy Bishop. Section B was void of all the movie reviews that usually appeal to a small segment of your readership. For that I was thankful. In its place was a feature by Tammy Swift on winter driving – excellent. Jenny Sanford’s book review also gets an A+.
Section C had great commentaries this week. I especially liked “Maine can learn from ND” and Jack Zaleski’s “Tea Party crowd can learn from Nader.”
Mitch Albom’s inspirational story in Parade was a morale booster to all those unemployed workers out there. And finally, the comics: “Pickles” made me laugh.
In closing, The Forum can learn from its readers. Examine your audience, your over-use of music and video reviews and find out what your reading public really wants in their newspaper. Today you “hit the nail on the head.”
