FLOOD UPDATE: Red River officially flooding in Fargo-Moorhead, predicted to hit almost 33 feet in a weekFARGO, N.D. -- The Red River at Fargo-Moorhead has risen past minor flood stage of 18 feet, according to the National Weather Service.
Forecaster Bill Barrett said today that it's still just the beginning of things and noted that at the 18-foot level, which the river crossed overnight, there are some street closings.
The Red River in Fargo-Moorhead was at 18.83 feet at 10:15 a.m. this morning. It's expected to hit almost 33 feet next Saturday. Major flood stage is 30 feet. Last spring, the Red hit a record 40.84 feet.
