DMF, FirstLink offer volunteers scholarshipsTo encourage student volunteering in this year’s flood fight, Dakota Medical Foundation in partnership with FirstLink will award five $2,000 scholarships to students who volunteer a minimum of four hours sandbagging or completing other flood-fighting activities. The five scholarship recipients will be selected after the flood risk has passed.
Students eligible for the scholarships are area college students and junior and senior high school students. Students must complete a brief scholarship application and submit it to a FirstLink representative at one of the sandbagging sites in order to get his/her name entered into the drawing for a scholarship. Students will get their name entered into the drawing for every 4 hours volunteered.
