Sugarbeet Institute meeting scheduled in Grand Forks

The 48th International Sugarbeet Institute will be held on Wednesday and Thursday at the Alerus Center in Grand Forks.

This annual event is the largest sugar beet trade show in North America, featuring about 125 commercial exhibitors encompassing more than 100,000 square feet of exhibit space.

Alerus Center doors open at

9 a.m. on both days of the show.

This year’s program speaker will be Dr. Mohamed Khan, extension sugar beet specialist with North Dakota State University and the University of Minnesota. Khan will address “The Sugar Story: From Whence We’ve Come” at 1:15 p.m. on Wednesday, and speak on “Challenges & Opportunities in the Beet Sector” at 10:10 a.m. on Thursday.
