Zornes still ‘person of interest’ in homicidesFinding Tracy Zornes was an important step in an investigation of a double homicide in Moorhead, but police aren’t calling him a suspect.
The 38-year-old from Naytahwaush, Minn., is still a “person of interest” in the deaths of John Cadotte, 20, of Moorhead, and Megan Londo, 25, of Naytahwaush, Lt. Tory Jacobson said Friday.
Zornes was taken into custody at about 6 p.m. Thursday after he was found in a rural area of Mahnomen County and was transported to the Clay County Jail, Jacobson said.
Zornes has warrants out for his arrest from Itasca, Becker and Cass counties in Minnesota. After investigators in Moorhead “assess his evidentiary value,” he could be handed over to authorities in one of those three counties as soon as Monday, Jacobson said.
“We’re confident he’ll be in custody for awhile,” he said.
Police began looking for him Feb. 22, three days after the bodies of Londo and Cadotte were found in an apartment fire. Police have only said that Zornes’ name has come up in multiple interviews conducted in the investigation.
