Director Chepulis leaves Trollwood

After 32 years at Trollwood Performing Arts School, today is Executive Director Vicki Chepulis’ official last day.

The arts program’s co-founder announced her retirement in October.

She now plans to move two hours southeast of Fargo to a 60-acre Wadena, Minn., home to live with her partner, artist Kent Scheer.

“I’m definitely going to miss Trollwood,” she said. “But I feel like it’s being turned over to good hands.”

A permanent replacement isn’t being immediately sought. Instead, Administration Director Kathy Anderson has taken over an interim role.

“We have a great team of people,” Chepulis said. “I’m really confident in the direction Trollwood is going to go.”

While she doesn’t have definite future career plans, Chepulis won’t be staying away from Trollwood completely.

She said she plans to return as a volunteer to help with landscaping, and attend performances.

Plus, she’ll do consulting work for Future Builders, the fundraising arm of Trollwood, helping raise funds and raise awareness about the arts program in the community.

“She just has a depth of information, knowledge and deep commitment (to Trollwood),” said Future Builders Executive Director Gail Benson.
