ND needs Cramer in US CongressAt last a candidate who isn’t a politician. Kevin Cramer’s name has been familiar to me for years. I blew him off as just another one of those people climbing the political ladder. Public Service commissioner, then on to Congress and whatever political opportunity arose.
I attended a “Coffee With Cramer” meeting and was very pleasantly surprised. Cramer isn’t the typical “tell-them-what-they-want-to-hear” politician, but a concerned citizen, actually concerned about the direction our country is going. It is refreshing to hear a candidate speak from the heart and not from a prepared script or speech.
Cramer didn’t bring a press agent or the media with him; he wasn’t there for a photo op; he wasn’t there to get his face on TV. No, he was there to listen to those who may or may not vote for him. He listened and answered questions from the voters.
We need men like Cramer in Congress, men who go to the voters and listen, not show up to take credit for legislation. Yes, this meeting changed my mind about Cramer. He isn’t just another politician. He is the one we need in Congress, not only him, but many just like him.
