Schulz, board are incompetentTo Bryan Schulz, Red River Valley Fair manager:
What is your track record? Do you not understand the value of racing in West Fargo? You have the best facility in the Upper Midwest and you are going to throw away the chance to have racing for demo derbies? Talk about not using the resources available to you to the best of your ability.
This story of how there will be no racing this year is just how far from reality the Fair Board is from the real world. Just a few years ago, the fair was losing money. I guess we should shut it down, too.
You have a perfect person, whom I have never met, to run the racetrack. Get over your and the board’s almighty position of ignorance and accept whatever terms Danny Schatz has to offer.
I believe that if public outcry is enough, you should resign and the Fair Board should be replaced. You are not doing what’s in the best interest of your property and what the public wants.
Yes, the track lost money, but weather will not always make it rain on Fridays. The track provides great entertainment and is truly a great sportsmanship sport to watch.
You will never gain the respect of the residents of the area with Big Iron, demo derbies or a no-name concert to replace an American pastime.
1) Let the racing happen, for the fans, the racers, and most of all, the good of the fairgrounds. 2) Resign; you are obviously not the right man for the job, as you do not understand your facility. 3) Whoever is in charge of the Fair Board hiring, make certain to get qualified candidates, including persons from the sports and entertainment that use the facility. Give them a voice.
