Will we drive by an empty track?I have just heard that “no amicable agreement” could be reached between Danny Schatz and the Red River Valley Fair Association, resulting in no races at the track this season. I and many others are very disappointed to hear this news.
If the Fair Board could not seem to make a profit, yet someone else was willing to step in and pay them just to use the facility, how could they not just say “thank you” and step aside to let Schatz prove how successful this facility can be? This speedway and many others in the area have been and continue to be successful.
With the quality of our speedway and the quality of talent we have attracted, there is no way, if run competently, this cannot be profitable and successful. You get out of it what you put into it.
There are many drivers who made plans, purchased new race cars and were very much looking forward to the new track and fresh attitude at Red River Valley Speedway. Instead, we’ll just drive by the empty track and wonder what could have been.
