UPDATED: Mike Williams, Fargo city commissioner, plans to run for ND LegislatureFargo City Commissioner Mike Williams said today he will run for the North Dakota Legislature.
Williams said he will seek either a state Senate or House seat, representing District 11.
He said he is leaning toward the House.
“It’s going to be in a non-partisan manner. It won’t be going through the district conventions,” Williams said.
He said he intends to remain a city commissioner, if he is elected to the Legislature.
District 11, which includes a portion of south Fargo, is represented by Sen. Tim Mathern and representatives Mary Ekstrom and Scot Kelsh, all Democrats.
Williams plans to make his announcement official in a news conference, scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Fargo Theatre second screen.
