Minnesota Highway 210 from Fergus Falls to Breckenridge closedThe Minnesota Department of Transportation and the Minnesota State Patrol closed Highway 210 from Fergus Falls to Breckenridge about 6:30 p.m. Monday due to high winds causing blowing and drifting snow and reduced visibility.
Highway 210 will remain closed until further notice, a news release stated.
Motorists are advised to avoid travel in west-central Minnesota until conditions improve and crews can make progress to recover roadways.
The travel advisory includes Clay, Wilkin, Grant, Traverse, Stevens, Big Stone and Swift counties.
When a road is closed it is illegal to travel in that area. Motorists can be fined up to $1,000 and, or 90 days in jail. If travelers need to be rescued from a closed road, other expenses and penalties will apply, according to a news release.
