Nurse’s assistant arrested, charged with mistreatmentDETROIT LAKES, Minn. – Quantel Morris, 36, Detroit Lakes, has been arrested and charged with a gross misdemeanor charge of mistreating a patient after he allegedly stuffed a sock in a nursing home patient’s mouth while caring for her.
According to court records, the certified nurse’s assistant was working at Sunnyside Nursing Center in Detroit Lakes on Jan. 4 and attending to a 98-year-old woman.
Another nursing assistant entered the room and saw Morris stuff the sock into the woman’s mouth.
When confronted, Morris said the woman wouldn’t quit hollering while he changed her.
Morris is being held at the Becker County Jail in Detroit Lakes.
