Safranski, 15 others in running for Central Cass superintendent
A Fargo principal is among 16 applicants for Central Cass School District’s next superintendent.
Sean Safranski, principal of Shanley High School in the Fargo Catholic Schools Network, applied for the top spot in Casselton. He didn’t return a message Wednesday seeking comment.
Last year, former Moorhead school administrator Mark Weston took on a one-year interim position. He’s also applying for the permanent spot.
“He’s moved this district forward,” School Board President Keith Gohdes said of Weston.
The other applicants are: Brian Koslofsky, principal in Frazee-Vergas, Minn. Jeremiah Olson, superintendent in Pingree-Buchanan, N.D. Richard Schaffan, superintendent and high school principal in McIntosh, S.D. Joe Harder, superintendent and high school principal in Lakota, N.D. Frank Schill, superintendent in Cavalier, N.D. Ronald Bratlie, energy efficiency coordinator of Osseo Area Schools in Maple Grove, Minn. Sherlock Hirning, superintendent in Chadron, Neb. Joel Young, superintendent in Red Lake Falls, Minn. Jon Kringen, superintendent in Long Prairie-Grey Eagle Public Schools in Long Prairie, Minn. Dennis Fogelson, former superintendent of the North Dakota School for the Deaf Charles Dunlop, superintendent in Turtle Lake, Wis. Duane Mueller, superintendent and elementary principal in Kenmare, N.D. Les Dale, superintendent, elementary principal and activities/athletics director in Ashley, N.D. Al Liebersbach, agriculture education instructor in Hebron, N.D.
On Feb. 15, the school board will present the finalists. A new leader starts July 1; a salary hasn’t been finalized yet.
“We’re going to be competitive,” Gohdes said. “We’re hoping the process is fruitful.”
