Melissa Sobolik to announce Fargo City Commission bidFARGO - Melissa Sobolik said today she will make an announcement tomorrow about running for a seat on the Fargo City Commission.
The director of member and client services at the Great Plains Food Bank said she intends to collect 300 citizen signatures to have her name placed on the June 8 ballot.
The other way a candidate can get their name placed on the ballot is by paying a $100 fee.
Sobolik is a longtime Fargo resident and a graduate of Moorhead’s Concordia College.
She is a past chairwoman of the Cass-Clay Hunger Coalition and a member of the F-M Homeless Coalition. She also serves on the board of directors of Lake Agassiz Habitat for Humanity and Metro Youth Partnership.
