Golf: Fargo’s Schultz ends in tie for 32nd in New ZealandQUEENSTOWN, New Zealand – Fargo’s Dave Schultz finished the Michael Hill New Zealand Open in a tie for 32nd place on the first leg of the season for the Nationwide Tour.
Schultz earned a full-year tour exemption with his strong placing on the money list in 2009.
Schultz finished the tournament 12 shots off the pace after firing a 73 on Sunday, which followed a 75 on Saturday. His four-day total of 286 was 2-under par.
Fellow American Robert Gates won the tournament with a 274 (14-under), taking home the $108,000 winner’s share.
Next stop on the tour is the Moonah Classic in Victoria, Australia, which begins Thursday.
