Annual ND corn growers CornVention set Feb. 17The North Dakota Corn Growers Association has scheduled its annual CornVention Feb. 17 at the Fargo Holiday Inn.
The event includes guest speakers Leon F. Osborne Jr. of Meridian Environmental Technology, John McGillicuddy of McGillicuddy Corrigan Agronomics and Mark A. Gold of Top Third Ag Marketing.
It also includes a trade show and lunch. Registration will be at 7:30 a.m.
Osborn is president and CEO of Meridian. He has been a faculty member of the University of North Dakota Department of Atmospheric Sciences and director of the UND Surface Transportation Weather Research Center.
McGillicuddy is an independent agronomist who contracts with independent seed companies and provides technical support to their sales teams. He studied at the University of Iowa and has been employed for more than 30 years in fertility research, field agronomy, technical support and weed science.
Gold is managing partner of Top Third Ag Marketing and a former 20-year member of the Chicago Board of Trade where he served on the Public Relations Committee and as chairman of the Soybean Pit Committee. He was also a floor trader at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, International Monetary Market, Sydney Futures Exchange and the New Orleans Commodity Exchange.
