Brothers charged in 1998 death of their sisterThe brothers of a Bagley, Minn., woman whose body was found in the woods in 1998 were arraigned today in Clearwater County on charges relating to the death of their sister.
Leisa Martin, 31, was last seen walking away from her home south of Bagley on Oct. 28, 1998. She was heading north on Minnesota Highway 92.
A hunter found her body Oct. 31 in a heavily wooded area near Roy Lake in Mahnomen County. A coroner ruled the death a homicide.
Brothers Todd Walter Martin and Troy Fredric Martin are each charged with aiding and abetting manslaughter in the second degree, aiding and abetting interference with a dead body and aiding an offender, according to a news release from the Clearwater County attorney's office.
Law enforcement officers acquired new information regarding Leisa Martin's death after Todd Martin recently was taken into custody for another offense, the release says.
Bail was set at $250,000 for each brother. The Martin men are slated to appear in court again Feb. 8.
