Fargo's Corwin Toyota urges customers with concerns about gas pedal to callFARGO - Corwin Toyota in Fargo is advising anyone with concerns about the Toyota gas pedal recall to call the dealership at (701) 282-8425, said Tanner Corwin, general manager.
“If anyone has any concerns bring the vehicle down right away and we will take a look at it for free,” Corwin said.
Different manufacturers produce gas pedals installed in Toyota vehicles. The CTS manufactured pedal is the affected pedal, said Corwin
Any vehicle that has the CTS pedal could potentially be an affected vehicle. Eight models could potentially have the CTS pedal, Corwin said.
“We’re going to have to wait and see exactly what Toyota is going to do for those customers. They haven’t said exactly what the fix is going to be yet,” Corwin said.
“What they have told us is potentially 1 out of every 100,000 vehicles could have an affected pedal so there’s a very slim chance that we will see anybody in the area with an affected vehicle,” he said.
Overtime, the affected pedals have worn down and become hard to press and rebound slower, Corwin said.
“It’s something that happens very slowly over time. It’s not like all of a sudden your vehicle is just accelerating out of control,” he said.
