North Dakota National Guard soldiers back on US soilBISMARCK – About 40 North Dakota National Guard soldiers are back on U.S. soil after a yearlong deployment to Afghanistan.
The soldiers with the 1st Battalion of the 188th Air Defense Artillery Regiment arrived at Fort McCoy in Wisconsin on Tuesday to begin the demobilization process.
Guard commander David Sprynczynatyk plans to travel to Fort McCoy on Thursday to greet the soldiers.
The soldiers eventually will return to North Dakota by bus.
