Police enforcement planned near beacon

The Fargo Police Department will begin increasing patrols Monday near the newly installed High Intensity Activated Crosswalk Beacon at 40th Avenue South and 28th Street South.

Officers will provide additional traffic enforcement mainly before and after school.

During the first week, written warnings will be given to commuters for violations.

Traffic offenses may include red-light violations, flashing-signal violations, or failure to yield to a pedestrian, which all carry a $20 fine.
