Saberi to receive NCAA Award of Valor Saturday

Roxana Saberi will receive an NCAA Award of Valor on Saturday in Atlanta.

Saberi, a former Fargo resident, drew international attention last year when she was imprisoned for four months in Iran after being convicted of spying for the United States. She was released in May after an appeals court suspended her eight-year sentence.

Saberi says she is honored and humbled to receive the NCAA award.

She was the 1997 Miss North Dakota and is a former soccer player at Concordia College.
