Guilty plea entered in roommate stabbingA Moorhead man accused of stabbing his roommate in the chest pleaded guilty Thursday in Clay County District Court to an assault charge.
Ronald Jay Curley, 26, of 3017 Covent Gardens St. S., had been charged with two counts of second-degree assault in connection with the Aug. 19 stabbing, but one count was dropped as part of a plea deal.
Attorneys are awaiting a presentence investigation to determine a sentencing recommendation, but the minimum prison term is 21 months, said Heidi Davies, a chief assistant Clay County attorney.
A sentencing hearing is set for Feb. 22.
