Man charged in eight robberiesAuthorities had hinted that Kyle Pederson was solely responsible for a string of December robberies that prompted an intense law enforcement dragnet, but not until Wednesday did they formally charge him with all eight stickups, as well as drug crimes.
He’s now charged with robbing the Fairfield Inn, Discontent, Simonson Station Store, Big Cigs Valley Dairy, Taco Bell and Budget Music in Grand Forks; Orton’s Point Tesoro in East Grand Forks, Minn.; and Aasen Drug in Mayville, N.D.
Pederson, 23, also faces counts of possessing narcotic painkillers and drug paraphernalia.
Grand Forks County prosecutor David Jones said Pederson is in the custody of Traill County authorities, but will likely make a court appearance here on the new charges today or Friday.
Pederson is seeking a court-appointed attorney but has not yet been assigned one.
