Officer training focuses on Internet predatorsThirty North Dakota law enforcement officers will be trained in investigative techniques to catch Internet predators, Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem has announced.
Training starts Monday in Bismarck.
“This training is part of the state’s ongoing efforts to stop online trafficking in child pornography and protect our children from online predators,” Stenehjem said. “Once trained, these officers will join a team of local, state and federal officers across the nation who are working together to catch and prosecute these Internet predators.”
The Bureau of Criminal Investigation provides the training. Officers from 22 local, state and federal agencies in North Dakota have already been through the program, he said.
A second four-day course to teach online undercover techniques for law enforcement officers will be held in March.
