Foxes near runway delay landings at Minneapolis-St. Paul airportMINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Two foxes wandered near one of the runways at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport on Wednesday and forced a couple of flights to delay landing.
Airport spokesman Pat Hogan says the foxes were spotted by an airline employee, and a sharpshooter was dispatched. Hogan tells the Star Tribune the shooter took out one of the foxes, then the other left on its own.
Hogan said only a couple flights had to delay landing, but no departing flights were delayed. He says animals as big as foxes can be dangerous and would have serious effects if hit by a plane, so authorities had to respond.
