Help at portrait event appreciatedOn Saturday, Dec. 12, amateur and professional photographers across the nation shared their time and talent with those in need during the Help Portrait event (find more information at www.help-portrait.com). The Rape and Abuse Crisis Center was honored and thankful to have been included in this wonderful event.
Seven photographers, Robby Njos, Nem Schlecht, Megan Benavidez, Bruce Crummy, Phillip Hunt, Amanda Strauss, and Denise Knudson set up two studios in our office complete with backdrops and lighting. Clients who otherwise would likely not have had this moment in time documented in pictures, arrived with smiles and walked out with an 8-by-10 photo of their favorite pose and a CD of all images taken during the session.
In addition to that, a kind woman dropped by the first part of the morning with an assortment of photo frames so each family could choose from those as well.
I was taken by the humble manner these photographers carried on with their work. It was so evident that they were all pleased to be sharing their gift with others, and it was heartwarming.
On behalf of our clients, staff, and board of directors, thank you for sharing your expertise in this way. You are truly remarkable people.
