We are thankful for all the ‘gifts’

Gifts come in all sizes and shapes, and Lincoln Elementary in Fargo, has found a true “gift” in their relationship with their Adopt-A-School Business partner, Blue Cross Blue Shield/Noridian.

Lincoln is nestled among the Fargo Country Club neighborhood. Our school population though is one of great needs and diversity. We have more than 100 ELL (English language learners), and 43 percent of our families are on free or reduced meals.

Blue Cross Blue Shield/Noridian sends us mentors to meet with some of our students during their lunchtime. They have held book drives for our students so they can go home at the end of the school year with a book in their hand. They have offered us volunteers to help our students in the areas of reading and math, they offer us trained volunteers to support our Junior Achievement program. And they have done a toy drive for us for several years to again support our families in need.

Our families, students and staff have been touched by their generosity and giving spirit. They are a “gift” to us and we are very thankful for them.
