Cable failure cuts power to 3,700 in Fargo

FARGO – An underground cable failure knocked out power to about 3,700 Xcel Energy customers in south Fargo for about 95 minutes Tuesday night.

The outage began just after 10 p.m. and affected mainly the area between Main Avenue and Interstate 94 and between 17th Street and University Drive, according to Xcel Energy spokeswoman Bonnie Lund.

Power has been temporarily rerouted, and crews will work on needed repairs today, she said.
