First Northern Cass CERT class to graduate

HUNTER, N.D. – The first Teen CERT class at Northern Cass High School will graduate at 2:15 today in Hunter.

Teen CERT educates students about disaster preparedness for hazards that may affect their area and trains them in basic disaster-response skills such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations.

Students will also participate in a mock disaster simulation to test the skills they’ve learned.

The program is the result of a partnership between FirstLink and North Dakota State University’s emergency management program.
